In the course of recent research on spirographs I came across some cool videos.

The Drawing Apparatus by Robert Howsare is simply hypnotizing. It consists of two wooden arms connected to record players. When those rotate, the wooden arms lead a marker to drawn different patterns. Changing the length of the arm or the speed deliver different results. So beautiful.

Then there’s Tony Orrico. His intense art performances consist of laying down on large pieces of paper and drawing spirographs with his body.

And here are three very entertaining ones by Vi Hart on spirals, Fibonacci, and being a plant (from her series Doodling in Math).
